Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. BOOK DESCRIPTION: 8vo, viii, 273 pgs, frontis, with 7 additional photo illustrations. Original decorative cover. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Near fine; very clean and bright. DJ is complete, minor wear, lightly soiled, old tape to spine ends, else VG-VG+ (in mylar sleeve). CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: An extremely graphic account of the discovery of silver in the Coeur D'Alene country of North Idaho in the 1880's - the most spectacular discovery of silver ever made. At least $250,000,000 in ore was taken out. The ore was discovered by a prospector with a $20 grubstake. He tried to deprive his patrons of their share in this immense wealth, and a picturesque frontier court action ensued, in which one of the chief lawyers was the author, William Stoll. He also took a prominent part in the labor troubles which developed a few years later. Quite scarce in this condition and with the DJ. With a letter from publisher offering this coy for review; and with other related clippings laid in.

Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Included. 1st Edition. First edition. Original green cloth with wonderful imposed geometric design of orange and silver. A very sharp copy with no hint of fading to the green cloth. Publisher's file copy, with a bookplate on the front pastedown with the Little, Brown logo (Poseidon) and three printed lines for publication date, price, and a number (for internal use, presumably) which are filled in. Dust jacket fixed to the back free endpaper by the panel and folded into the book. To do this the jacket was slightly trimmed and the rear flap and a bit of the back panel were removed. The back panel in this example has no text; it is possible that this was an advance jacket. There is a small piece of paper pasted onto the spine above the publisher's name with a number on it which is the same number as the one on the bookplate. Despite this minor cosmetic blemish the book is exceptionally fine. In all likelihood the publisher's file copy.
