Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Complete 4 volume set in contemporary full leather. First two volumes are dated 1823, second two are dated 1824. I do not think they are a married set but that the dates reflect the order and timing of publication. See WorldCat/OCLC: 191254825 & 1081068030 which show the same set and dates. Beautifully bound in full leather with gilt highlights and marbled endpapers. The hinges were reinforced sometime in the distant past. Binding is sound. Each volume has a 'vignette title' which is included in the directions to the binder as a plate. So counting the frontis, vignette titles, and plates there are 24 plates. Each volume paginates complete including blanks. The interior shows moderate to heavy foxing throughout (consistent with the New York paper of the time). Smudges, folds, and closed edge tears are present. Paper remains supple. I will also include a paperback copy of "Josephus: The Essential Writings" by Paul Maier.
