Ms. Caroll is riding a giant firecracker to celebrate the 4th and to publisize her movie "Smith Of Minnesota" in which she was listed 12th in a grade B programmer which starred real life football star Bruce Smith. The photo was taken by the great studio photographer A.L. Schafer whose rubber stamp is on verso along with attached photo caption. Printed on heavy stock which has some light toning to small area of the photo. Near fine. Book.

A dark and morally conflicted film by Siodmak, here at the top of his considerable directorial skills, and a powerful performance by Stanwyck, who invests her character Thelma with more ambiguity and sympathy than is found in the stereotypical femme fatale.
