A few scuffs on front cover, fading on spine; writting on half title page. A call to action and duty, discussing missions and spreading the word of Christianity to groups who have not either heard the word or converted. 165 pages. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Book.

Board with Leather Spine. Condizione: Good. Second. Internally very good with slight browning, bookplate (believed to be of Rugby School library) on inside front cover, hinges a little strained but holding well, cover (could be contemporary) worn pp xxiv + [4] + 238 + [2] but no frontispiece . Priced accordingly. Pics available Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Clean tight text has wide margins. Some noticeable spotting to edges and outer margins. Rebound for a (?private) library perhaps about 1900 with a fancy leather spine with a shelf number (726) towards base. A very sturdy book.

Bound in half brown leather, without title lettering but with marbled boards, edges and endpapers, this hardcover 1811 Second Edition is VG for date. XX1V/135pp+10pp engraved plates. Incudes, Preface by Lord Aberdeen, Appendix (argument on orgins of English Pointed Style), and 9 chapters. Steel engraved bookplate of Cholmeley of Brandsby. Prelims., have some water-staining and engraved frontis (Rheims Cathedral) has left minor staining print-through on title page. Ten engraved plates are all water stained on bottom half. All the text, however, is remarkably clean. Binding is sound and tight, but corners are worn, and edges and bottom of boards rubbed. Spine expertly rebacked in leather, but this also has minor water stain.Close Vg for date.
