Vols. 2 and 6 are in the original covers, with printed spine labels; boards dust-toned and sun-faded at the margins, and showing expected edgewear. Vol. 6 backstrip lacking, with front board detached. Vol. 5 is in a later, period-sympathetic binding with a new spine label and endpapers; boards slightly dust-dulled and showing a light spotted dampstain to the front. A gathering is loose at vol. 2, pp. 19-22, and the binding of vol. 6 is cracked between two preliminary plates. Except as noted, the text blocks remain strong; foxing is faint and chiefly marginal, with the exception of plates and some preliminary text leaves, which are more heavily foxed.
