Bibliotheekstempel. - In 1984 namen Hennie van Oers, Paul Spapens en Lauran Wijffels het initiatief tot het schrijven van dit boek, waarin vele facetten van de geschiedenis van de Tilburgse kermis worden belicht. Hennie van Oers (32) is een kermis-documentali…st van het zuiverste water. Zijn archief omvat 5.000 kermisdia's, 7.500 foto's en een kleine 300 archiefmappen met kermisinformatie. Zijn inbreng was vooral van kermis-historische aard. Paul Spapens (36) is journalist van beroep. Hij schreef voor veel dag- en weekbladen. Eerder publiceerde hij een boek over de ontstaansgeschiedenis van de Tilburgse wijk Het Zand en een stripboek over de stad Tilburg. Zijn interesse in de historie van Tilburg drukte een zwaar stempel op dit boek. Lauran Wijffels (29) is als verslaggever werkzaam bij de Brabant Pers. Vanaf zijn vijftiende reisde hij in zijn vrije tijd enkele jaren met verschillende Nederlandse kermisfamilies. Vanaf 1981 houdt hij zich professioneel bezig met de kermisverslaggeving voor de Brabant Pers.
