Leineneinband, 8°, XII, 391 S., 120 Holzschnitte und 5 Tafeln mit z.T. farbigen Illustrationen; -Kanten berieben, Papier gebräunt, Titelei gestempelt, gutes Exemplar. van Bebber wurde 1877 an das Reichsinstitut Deutsche Seewarte in Hamburg berufen und übernahm direkt den Vorsitz der Abteilung für Küstenmeteorologie; er verfasste erste Wetterkarten und Wetteraussichten, zu denen auch Sturmwarnungen gehörten, für den öffentlichen Wettervorhersagedienst ab 1906 hatte er wichtige Grundlagen gelegt.
