The authors carefully study the impact of natural and man-made events on the park's diverse plant and animal communities. The text provides a unique insight into the ecological relationships between Acadia's topography, weather, flora, fauna, and history of fire. The book also explores each of these subjects individually, discussing the different tree and vegetation types found within the park, as well as the park's vast array of birds, mammals, and aquatic life.
