Softcover. First Edition. 27" x 41" four color. Folded. Original one sheet movie poster of the 1968 independently made color science fiction film, produced and directed by William Castle, starring Christopher George, Greta Baldwin, Henry Jones, and Monte Markham. The film was distributed by Paramount Pictures and is adapted from the science fiction novels The Artificial Man [1965] and Psychogeist [1966] by L. P. Davies. The script was written by Edmund Morris and had special sequences animated by Hanna-Barbera. Project X's story echoes some geopolitical themes of the late 1960s, such as overpopulation, emerging genetic engineering, biological warfare, cryogenics and fear of Asian dominance. It mixes in science fiction concepts like holographic devices, memory manipulation and viewing, and virtual environments to create a story about futuristic espionage. Very Good with two chips and some minor splits at the folds.

Draft script for the 1958 film. Copy belonging to an unidentified crew member, with their annotations in manuscript pencil on the front wrapper and two leaves regarding lighting. Based on Theo Durant's 1951 novel "The Marble Forest." A small-town doctor must race to find his daughter after she is kidnapped and buried alive, with only hours to go until she suffocates. Vintage reference photograph from the 1947 film, showing a blonde Rita Hayworth perched on the railing of Errol Flynn's yacht "Zaca," during filming on location in Mexico. Stamp of Columbia Pictures on the verso. Director Orson Welles promised to write, produce, and direct a film for Columbia Pictures president Harry Cohn in exchange for an emergency $55,000 to help finance costuming for his 1946 Broadway musical "Around the World." The resultant film, based on Raymond Sherwood King's 1938 novel "If I Die Before I Wake," courted controversy, not least due to Welles' decision to have Hayes cut and bleach her iconic red hair for her performance. Although the film was a commercial failure in the US upon release, it is now considered a touchstone of the noir genre. Shot on location in Mexico. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good, lightly toned overall, with brief wear at the corners. National Film Registry. Rosenbaum 1000. Selby US. Selby US Canon. Selby US Masterwork. Silver and Ward Classic Noir. Spicer US.

Vintage 40 x 60 inch poster for the 1961 film. Rare in this size format. A mysterious woman offers a bellboy $2000 to marry her, only to brutally murder the justice of the peace during the ceremony before fleeing. Widely regarded as one of the best films of director and B-movie maestro William Castle, and undeniably influenced by Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho," released the year prior. Castle, well known for his utilization of promotional gimmicks, implemented a "Fright Break" for "Homicidal;" a 45-second timer which overlays the impending climax with Castle's voice-over advising the audience they could leave the theater and receive a full refund if they were too frightened to see the ending of the film (audience members who chose to leave however, would have to wait in a yellow cardboard booth, entitled the "Coward's Corner," manned by a nurse with a blood pressure cuff). 40 x 60 inches. Very Good plus, with light overall creasing and minor edgewear, else bright and unfaded. See image.

Aggiungi al carrelloNo Binding. Condizione: Fine. 1st Edition. A superb-condition cinema-used Finnish A2 poster for the 1949 film JOHNNY STOOL PIGEON, starring Howard Duff, Shelley Winters and Dan Duryea. The film was first screened in Finnish cinemas in 1950 with no subsequent theatrical runs. This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. It is in really excellent shape, Fine condition. There is a fold line near the top - slanted and visible only from the verso but none to the middle. At the top line of the titles in the letter "a" you can see a mounting hole and there is an enclosed tear surrounding the hole but this is almost invisible - I guess the poster was snatched from it's mounting without any ceremony. No further pinholes. At the bottom edge there is a very short tear and a smaller nick. Otherwise no edge wear apart from some minor handling creasing. The paper is extremely thin and has survived the intervening 70+ years fantastically well. Bright, clean and vivid. Excellent graphics and design. Signed in the plate by the artist. A fabulous Film noir poster.
