Embossed decorated exterior is clean with faint rub marks throughout, and a scraped lower edge to both rear & front boards. Gilt embossed title block on front cover is excellent, as is cactus illustration. Interior is very clean and readable; the only flaws to interior are minor and affect the feps only: "Remuda Ranch" is stamped on inside rear and front covers; both hinges are split but intact; there is very minor mice knawing to top of fep. Binding is tight and strong.

This 5.25 x 7.75 inch, 133 page hardcover book is the 1927 first edition of this title as indicated by that date on the title page corresponding to the 1927 copyright on the following page. This copy is in at least very good condition with corner wear showing to the four corners of the brown cloth covers with gilt lettering on front panel and spine and with a black-lined desert design of cactus, Mesa, and sky on the front panel. The interior shows two previous owner?s signatures with one showing ?Compliments Frank A. Jefferson, Mayor of Phoenix? on the front paste down. The text pages are in at least very good condition with the black-and-white frontispiece photo protected by tissue guard and with nine additional full-page photos illustrating the text pages. The information base tells of early indian residency, then the Spanish era in the southwest, and then a number of chapters on indian villages and living during the American era. The book is filled with interesting information and a look at the United States 48th state. 133 pages.
