There is a section describing the arms of the gentry. The main part of the book gives a history of the Hundred of Wanting, meaning entirety of six parishes, and most of three others in Berkshire. The author discusses the topography, the families, the history. Naturally, for this type of book, most of the detail concerns the noble families. In addition, there are five fold-out family trees (Pedigrees), and one single page, for the family names of Fetyplace, Hyde, Wiseman, and Keate. Overall, this is a very good copy with only a few notes in the text. There is the name of a previous owner on the free endpaper, dated 1833.…
