Quarto; full contemporary calf with gilt and blind tool stamping; five raised bands, gilt decoration, and red leather title label to spine; edges stained red; marbled endpapers; [20] chromolithographed pages printed rectos only. Light wear to edges and joints; corners slightly bumped; binding sound; archival reinforcements along gutter of two leaves; some spotting. A Very Good copy of Byron's interpretation of the 16th century monk's tragic story, and a striking example of work of William Robert Tymms, one of the foremost British chromolithographers of the 19th century.
