Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Published originally as part of C. Eric Lincoln's series on the black religious experience, Is God a White Racist? is a landmark critique of the black church's treatment of evil and the nature of suffering. In this powerful examination of the early liberation methodology of James Cone, J. Deotis Roberts, and Joseph Wa…shington, among others, Jones questions whether their foundation for black Christian theism--the belief in an omnibenevolent God who has dominion over human history--can provide an adequate theological foundation to effectively dismantle the economic, social, and political framework of oppression.Seeing divine benevolence as part of oppression's mechanism of disguise, Jones argues that black liberation theologians must adopt a new theism that is informed by humanism and its principle of the functional ultimacy of wo/man, where human choice and action determine whether our condition is slavery or freedom.

Trade Paperback. Condizione: New. 1st Edition. Trade Paperback - 1st. Print - NEW - This one-shot 50th anniversary edition includes all-new comix by 33 writers and artists, with one classic reprint by R. Crumb, 28 stories and pin-ups to chill the bones in our temperature-rising age of global warming. Inspired by the ecological a…dvocacy of the original title, which debuted on the very first Earth Day in 1970, this edition features horrifying tales depicting the environmental calamity facing our world in this time of climate change. The book is headlined by a savage depiction of the implications of the melting polar ice cap in Antarctica, by award-winning cartoonist/illustrator William Stout, who provides the cover. Also included is work by Richard Corben, Rick Veitch, Drew Friedman, Bryan Talbot, Hunt Emerson, Peter Kuper, and many more, as well as unseen work by the late, great Greg Irons. CRUMB, ROBERT : CORBEN, RICHARD : STOUT, WILLIAM : IRONS, GREG (illustratore).

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a refined method for mapping and predicting ionospheric characteristics used in telecommunication. Numerical methods previously used by the author to describe these characteristics have been updated and improved. The modifications encompass a more precise coordinate… system and a tailored magnetic dip formula to account for irregularities in the ionosphere, especially at lower latitudes. The author also introduces a universal time analysis to eliminate ambiguous polar values, which caused distortions in nearby areas, that plagued earlier models. This analysis in turn created new complications in geographic variations. To address this, the author expanded the number of geographic functions used in the original model to account for variations in longitude. These changes have led to a reduction in the root mean square residual for the new model of 30-47 percent. Residuals, which offer an estimate of the standard deviation of errors, are now close to the level of noise inherent in ionospheric measurements. This marks a significant improvement in the accuracy with which predictions can be made using the numerical maps produced by this book's method. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

BUONE/OTTIME CONDIZIONI GENERALI, MAI SFOGLIATO; MACCHIETTE/FIORITURE E SEGNI DEL TEMPO. RARO.
