Bookseller's stamp on front pastedown; underlining in blue ink to five or so pages. A literary landmark: the first English-language short story collection by a Japanese American writer. Originally it was to be published in 1942, but like others of Japanese ancestry the author was interned during WWII, at the Topaz Relocation Center, and lingering anti-Asian racism (to be blunt) postponed publication for years after the war had ended.
