Aggiungi al carrelloEx-private lending library copy. First edition, first printing (per publisher's requisite statement for former upon copyright page). 400 pages. Hardcover: H 21.75cm x L 15cm. Dust jacket retains bright coloration to front panel and spine with nicks and bumping along edges; lending library's dj protector now removed but with scattered black residue and some age toning along top and bottom edges of spine, both panels, and both flaps; obtrusive strips of black tape still adhered lengthwise along both flaps' terminal edges the removal of which might possibly be addressed by a conservator. Olive cloth, gilt stamping to spine and front board remains reasonably bright, single slender vertical strips of black tape residue at top and bottom edges of each board. Some toning and foxing to edges; toning to endpapers with vertical strips of the same black tape residue on pastedowns; library's three-line ink notation regarding lending prices at top right corner of front free endpaper recto; a few scattered spots of soiling/foxing to interior leaves which otherwise remain quite clean; pages 69-76 bumped with negligible short tears at their upper fore-edge margins; pages 325-354 bumped at bottom corners. Binding is firm. The highly lauded LIE DOWN IN DARKNESS was William Styron's first novel published at just the youthful age of 26. Styron won the 1968 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for THE CONFESSIONS OF NAT TURNER. {LitShelf #2}.…
