Horizontal center fold, two sub-headlines printed in red just above the horizontal fold are smudged, else a very good bright copy. An early 1913 poster advertisement for two music scores published by Leo Fei…st: "When You Play in the Game of Love," a hit song by Al Piantadosi and Joe Goodwin, and the "Kathlyn" Hesitation waltz. The poster was printed a week before the release of *The Adventures of Kathlyn*, the very popular adventure serial released on December 29, 1913 by the Selig Polyscope Company, which was directed by Francis J. Grandon, and starred Kathlyn Williams as the heroine.

Mimeo snipe and Famous Players-Lasky stamp on the verso. Based on the 1844 play "Don Cesar de Bazan," which was in turn loosely based on… Victor Hugo's 1938 play "Ruy Blas." Love develops between a Romani fortune teller and a wealthy Spanish count, to the chagrin of the King of Spain. Hot on the heels of Mary Pickford's "Rosita," also released in 1923. Set in Spain. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, lightly toned.

"The Adventures of Kathlyn" was released in 1916, directed by Francis J. Grandon, story by Harold McGrath and written by Gilson Willets. Starring: Kathlyn Williams; Charles Clary; William Carpenter; Lafe McKee; Tom Santschi; Goldie Colwell; Franklin Hall; Effie Sackville; Roy Watson; Charles Courtwright; Charles Murphy; Harry Huckins; Edmund Cobb; Edwin Wallock and Hirri Tsingh. This was a ten reel re-edited version of a twenty-seven reel serial whose first part was released on December 29, 1913.
