Quarto, hardcover (slick green boards), 200 pp. Fine in a Fine dust jacket. From dust jacket: As colorful and luscious as the flowers it describes, this beautifully illustrated book offers everyone interested in tropical gardens, a guide to the multitude of plants, trees and exotic species that thrive in subtropical conditions. Each chapter gives you a discussion and plant selections to choose from along with beautiful photography taken in the gardens of the members themselves. There are special chapters on salt tolerant plants and on xeriscape gardening, presenting new techniques to reduce water requirements. There is also a chapter on Designing a Seaside Garden, with a step-by-step discussion of how to go about designing such a garden together with suggestions of plantings, and full-page examples of professionally landscaped gardens to draw ideas from. The book's dramatic photographs were taken in the gardens of the members themselves as well as protected areas that the club helps to preserve.
