Bronze colored lettering on spine is clean and unmarked. Covers exhibit light wear and bumping on corners and spine ends. Light yellowing to inside front and back covers, ffep's, bfep's and page ends due to age. Text is otherwise clean and unmarked. Inside hinge is weak but still firmly attached. The maps of London on the inside front and back covers are clean and unmarked. The large fold-out map of Edinburgh locating many of the places used in the text is in fine condition. The other b&w illustrations including the frontispiece are in fine condition. Illustrated dj is in a protective mylar cover with multiple small tears, chips and creasing on edges, corners and spine ends. Heavy shelf wear and soiling to the back cover including the edges and hinge area.
