Neuware - Das Ziel der Arbeit ist eine Diskussion der Konsequenzen der Transformation auf die Wohlfahrt der zum Zeitpunkt der Systemumwandlung und in den nachfolgenden Perioden lebenden Haushalte. Darauf aufbauend erfolgt eine Analyse der Folgewirkungen von Kompensationszahlungen an die Verlierer der Transformation auf den Nutzen dieser sowie der Gewinner. Bei der Finanzierung der Transferleistungen wurde zwischen der Emission von inländischen Wertpapieren, ausländischen Transferzahlungen und Schuldenerlaß durch ausländische Gläubiger unterschieden.Die Basis der Untersuchungen bildet ein um die Produktqualität auf dem Konsumgütermarkt ergänztes Modell überlappender Generationen. Weiterhin unterscheiden sich die Haushalte in der Beurteilung der Produktqualität. Bei den jüngeren Haushalten führt die Transformation zu Lohneinkommenseinbußen, bei den älteren zu Vermögensverlusten. Die Ursache wird im Import qualitativ besserer Güter gesehen, der zu Lasten der inländischen Anbieter geht. Demgegenüber stehen die Vorteile aus dem qualitativ verbesserten sowie preisgünstigeren Güterangebot. Aufgrund der höheren Lebenserwartung der jüngeren Haushalte können sie die Vorteile auf dem geänderten Konsumgütermarkt länger in Anspruch nehmen. Zusätzlich werden sie in ihrer zweiten Lebenshälfte Zinsgewinne realisieren. Inwieweit ein Haushalt einen Nutzen aus dem Systemumbruch ziehen kann, hängt aber wesentlich von der individuellen Präferenz für Produktqualität ab. Eine Kompensierung der Vermögensverluste der älteren Haushalte führt immer zu einer Besserstellung dieser gegenüber einer Situation ohne Transferleistungen. Dahingegen hängt der Effekt der Kompensationszahlungen auf den Nutzen der jüngeren Haushalte von der gewählten Finanzierung ab. Hat das Inland die Wahl zwischen einer internen und externen Finanzierung, dann beeinflußt das Alter der Haushalte ihre Entscheidung. Die in den nachfolgenden Perioden lebenden Haushalte werden unabhängig von Transferzahlungen dann Vorteile aus der Transformation ziehen, wenn das Inland produktivitätswirksamen und qualitätsverbessernden technischen Fortschritt generieren kann.; Dissertationsschrift.…
