Among the papers are: Instructions re Barrage Guns.; Orders for Gun Members Oc.The diary opens at Grantham on 25 April 1916. 1916 is spent at Armentieres, Albert, Villers Au Bois, Franvillers and Erquinghem. 1917 is the most travelled year, 52 places against 22 in the next busiest, and is spent at Autheux, Pegwell Camp-Proven, Caestre, Arras and St Nicholas. It closes at Pegwell Camp-Proven on 31 October 1917. Armentieres is where it spent longest, 237 days across three separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 189 and it came back to Beaumetz eight separate times.In 1916 it is also recorded at Southampton, Havre, St. Omer, St. Martin, Muncqnieurlet, St. Gratien, Trevincourt, Millencourt, Liencourt and Fosse De La Claronel.
