Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the philosophical foundations of Epicureanism, an influential school of thought that sought to free humanity from the shackles of superstition and fear. The author, a respected scholar in the field, traces the development of Epicurean ideas from their origins in pre-Socratic philosophy to their articulation by Epicurus and his followers. The book presents a comprehensive examination of Epicurean physics, ethics, and epistemology. It explores the atomic theory that forms the basis of Epicurean natural philosophy, the hedonistic ethics that guide their pursuit of happiness, and the skeptical approach to knowledge that underpins their understanding of the world. The author illuminates the enduring legacy of Epicureanism, highlighting its influence on Western thought and its relevance to contemporary philosophical debates. Through a detailed analysis of Epicurean texts and a nuanced exploration of their historical context, this meticulously researched volume offers a valuable contribution to the study of ancient philosophy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
