Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the early history of the colonial postal system in the United States, shedding light on its evolution from its rudimentary beginnings in the 17th century to the establishment of a royal intercolonial post under Queen Anne's Act of 1710. Drawing on a wealth of primary sources, the author delves into the challenges and successes faced by early postal pioneers as they sought to connect the disparate colonies and facilitate communication across vast distances. The book examines the role of individuals, the influence of government policies, and the impact of technological advancements on the development of the postal system. By tracing the interplay between these factors, the author uncovers the broader historical context and thematic depth surrounding the establishment of this essential service in the American colonies. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
