Soundly bound in original ribbed green cloth with titles in white and color pictorial panel from art by Wyeth mounted to the cover board. 12 of the 14 b&w plates which illustrated the book are by Wyeth with two by Clarence underwood. Originally published the year prior by McClure, Doubleday Page purchased rights to this and many other works as McClure suffered financial difficulties. McClure imprint still appears on the cloth at base of spine but the title page has been changed to Doubleday. Lightly shelf cocked in the spine; mild rubbing and flaking to white lettering at spine. A few pages corner creased and occasional mild finger soiling to page stock. Prior ownership penned to front endpage. G+.
