The localities were left unnamed by Lawrence due to the rigours of censorship, and Peter Yule had to spend many hours chasing names on maps of France and Belgium. This second book will stand beside Gallipoli Diary and complete the literary memorial of a gallant soldier of the first A.I.F. **The book has light tanning and the name of the previous owner written inside the front cover (Google the name Edna Brill) and the jacket is sun faded at the spine.**.

Follows on from Cyril Lawrence's Gallipoli Diary, and covers the period from 30 March 1916 to January 1919 and deals with his service with the Second Field Company, Australian Engineers as Headquarters Sergeant, and then after completing training at the Royal Engineers Officer Training School in 1916, as Second Lieutenant with the First Field Company.
