In the 1980s, a database of the species of fish and cyclostomes in Switzerland was compiled. This has now been updated. The data which cover species in 20 families, were collected by sampling at 5904 watercourses and 752 stillwater sites (lakes, ponds, etc), and are presented in this publication. For each species there are sections on world-wide distribution, biology, habitat and distribution in Switzerland, and species characteristics. There are also distribution maps for each species, and tabulated data on the sampled sites. Ca troisième édition réactualisée de l'Atlas de distribution des poissons et cyclostomes de Suisse met en évidence les récents et importants bouleversements observés de la faune piscicole présente dans les eaux helvétiques. Les activités humaines de loisirs, de transport et de commerce ont provoqué des modifications des aires naturelles de distribution des espèces indigènes et favorisé la prolifération d'espèces non indigènes et arfois envahissantes. Grâce aux nouvelles génétiques, il a également été possible de mettre en évidence ou de confirmer l'existance de nouvelles espèces, souvent méconnues ou confondues. Cet ouvrage de la série Fauna Helvetica synthétise les connaissances scientifiques actuelles en constante évolution ainsi que la distribution de la faune piscicole suisse. Il se base sur les données les plus récentes ainsi que sur la banque de données de distribution des poissons et cyclostomes de Suisse, gérée par le Centre suisse de cartographie de la faune (Info fauna - CSCF). La base de données contient à ce jour 69'817 rescensements validés de poissons et cyclostomes, dont 61'020 issues d'inventaires sur des eaux courantes et 8'797 sur des plans d'eau.Ces données proviennent principalement d'échantillonages effectués dans le cadre de travaux de gestion halieutique, de recherche scientifique ou d'expertises pratiquées et d'expertises pratiquées par des organismes privés ou publics dans le cadre d'intervention technique touchant aux eaux. A ces données se sont ajoutées également de nombreuses informations muséales. Pour chaque taxon, des informations générales sur sa distribution.Le statut de menace en Suisse est tiré de la réactualisation de la Liste rouge des poissons et cyclostomes de Suisse effectuée en 2018,dont la publication de l'OFEV est prévue en 2019. Un guide d'identification sous forme de cahier complémentaire est également disponible. Ce guide peut être emporté sur le terrain afin d'identifier la plupart des poissons et cyclostomes de Suisse. Human recreation, transportation and trade activities have led to changes in the natural range of distribution of native species and the proliferation of non-native and sometimes invasive species. Thanks to the new genetic, it has also been possible to highlight or confirm the existence of new species, often unknown or confused. This book of the Fauna Helvetica series synthesizes the current scientific knowledge in constant evolution as well as the distribution of the Swiss fish fauna. It is based on the most recent data as well as on the distribution database of fish and cyclostomes in Switzerland, managed by the Swiss Wildlife Mapping Center (Info fauna - CSCF). The database currently contains 69,817 verified validations of fish and cyclostomes, of which 61,020 come from inventories of streams and rivers and 8,797 from lakes and other stagnant waterbodies. For each taxon, general information on its distribution is given. The Red List status in Switzerland is based on an update of the Swiss Red List of Fish and Cyclostomes, the publication of which is scheduled for 2019. An identification guide in the form of a supplemental booklet is also available. This guide can be taken to the field to identify most of the fish and cyclostomes in Switzerland.
