Zilliacus discusses the themes of his recent work Between Two Wars, commenting on German forces around Czechoslovakia, Czech deserters, and the political failures that have brought Europe to the brink of conflict. Drawing on his experience as an intelligence officer in Siberia and two decades in the League of Nations Secretariat, he argues for a British foreign policy âthat will workâ and condemns the sacrifice of common interests to plutocracy. A powerful pre-war statement from one of the most outspoken critics of appeasement. A 2 page TLS, with interesting cuttings (some laid down), one stating that left wing MP Konni Zilliacus and communist MP Phil Piratin as MPs had access to the Russian head of state denied to the British Ambassador.
