Biographies of individuals connected with the property back to the 15th century, along with discussion of the building's development over time and its transformation into the library. Preface by Claudine Chevrel, conservator. Illustrations throughout. Front wrapper spotted in lower corner near spine.

Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Very Good condition. This 1978 exhibition catalog remains in impressive condition for a 47-year-old softcover publication. The covers are clean with vibrant color reproduction of the Coñac Larronde poster showing minimal wear. Edge wear is minimal with only slight rubbing at corners and spine ends. The spine is intact with no creasing or splitting. Pages are clean, bright, and free of foxing, staining, or tears. A small pencil notation ("105") appears in the upper right margin of one interior page, likely a dealer or collector reference. The binding is sound with no loosening or separation. Overall, a well-preserved example with only minor handling wear consistent with age. This is a scarce exhibition catalog devoted to Georges Meunier (1869-1942), a French Belle Époque poster artist whose work exemplified the colorful advertising aesthetic of late 19th and early 20th century France. Published for the 1978 retrospective at Paris's Bibliothèque Forney, one of France's premier institutions for decorative arts and graphic design, this catalog documents Meunier's career through reproductions of his poster work. The cover features his striking "Coñac Larronde Frères" design showing a fashionable woman in bold red presenting a cognac service, with the Spanish tagline "Es el Mejor" reflecting the international market for French spirits. Interior pages catalog various works with French descriptions and dates. Meunier's designs combined Art Nouveau sensibility with the emerging modernist simplification of form, making him a transitional figure in French poster art history. Exhibition catalogs from this era are increasingly scarce as institutional publications with limited print runs.
