In dieser Arbeit soll es nun darum gehen, noch einmal gezielt verschiedene Stadt-Theorien an nur einem Text vorzustellen: Allzu laute Einsamkeit von Bohumil Hrabal bietet sich hierfür vorzüglichan, weil hier ganz unterschiedliche Beschreibungen und Vorstellungen von Prag in vereint werden.So ist zum Beispiel der Entwurf von Prag als magisch-mythischer Raum zu nennen ¿ was ist Fiktion, was Imagination, was schließlich doch Realität Ist die Stadt ein konkretes Abbild der Wirklichkeit oder steht sie als Sinnbild oder Struktur für etwas ganz anderes Wie verhält sie sich im Kontext zum eigentlichen Geschehen, wie ist sie in Bezug und in Beziehung zu den handelnden Personen zu setzen Erfährt die Stadt im Verlauf der Geschichte eine Wandlung oder bleibt sie von Anfang bis zum Ende eher statisch Eine wichtige Rolle in Allzu laute Einsamkeit spielt auch das Verhältnis vom Kunstraum zum Stadtraum. So flüchtet sich der Protagonist Hanta in eine Gegenwelt aus Büchern und auch andere Personen im Text haben sich ihre eigene kleine Kunstwelt erschaffen. Im Hauptseminar Magisches Prag im WS 06/07 haben wir uns mit der literarischen Darstellung der Stadt Prag sowohl aus kulturgeschichtlicher Perspektive als auch mit Hilfe unterschiedlicher theoretischer Ansätze beschäftigt. In dieser Arbeit soll es nun darum gehen, noch einmal gezielt verschiedene Stadt-Theorien an nur einem Text vorzustellen: Allzu laute Einsamkeit von Bohumil Hrabal bietet sich hierfür vorzüglich an, weil hier ganz unterschiedliche Beschreibungen und Vorstellungen von Prag in vereint werden. So ist zum Beispiel der Entwurf von Prag als magisch-mythischer Raum zu nennen was ist Fiktion, was Imagination, was schließlich doch Realität Ist die Stadt ein konkretes Abbild der Wirklichkeit oder steht sie als Sinnbild oder Struktur für etwas ganz anderes Wie verhält sie sich im Kontext zum eigentlichen Geschehen, wie ist sie in Bezug und in Beziehung zu den handelnden Personen zu setzen Erfährt die Stadt im Verlauf der Geschichte eine Wandlung oder bleibt sie von Anfang bis zum Ende eher statisch Eine wichtige Rolle in Allzu laute Einsamkeit spielt auch das Verhältnis vom Kunstraum zum Stadtraum. So flüchtet sich der Protagonist Hanta in eine Gegenwelt aus Büchern und auch andere Personen im Text haben sich ihre eigene kleine Kunstwelt erschaffen. Schließlich spielt noch die kulturelle, politische und soziale Mehrschichtigkeit in diesem Text eine Rolle, die sich auch in differierenden Beschreibungen der Stadt und ihrer Umgebung widerspiegelt. All diese Aspekte sollen in den folgenden Kapitel näher beleuchtet werden. Dazu bediene ich mich drei sehr unterschiedlichen theoretischen Ansätzen über Städte in der Literatur. Zum einen soll geklärt werden, ob es in Allzu laute Einsamkeit Parallelen zur expressionistischen Großstadtdarstellung gibt. Zum zweiten analysiere ich, ob Hanta Züge eines Flaneurs hat und schließlich geht es um die Darstellung des so genannten 'Magischen Prags'. Especially after Lakoff/ Johnson had published their influential work on metaphor and conceptualization ('Metaphors we live by', 1980) research into cognitive aspects of language gained more ground in linguistics. Deeper insight into the way we structure our perception of the world has led to the conclusion that both, metaphor and metonymy, must be regarded as cognitive phenomena. By way of referring to a selection of telic verbs I will argue that the understanding of telic verbs relies on metonymy- a metonymy that is not included in the lists of metonymies developed by some well-known linguists (cf.: Fass, 1997, 461-469). To be examined are their roles in the novel, their relationship to Sutpen and their femininity or gender respectively. The interpretation of Rosa will be the largest one, because she gives the reader as a narrator more information than the other females. After a short overview of Absalom, Absalom!, I begin every analysis of the single white female characters with a short introduction of their biography and status, before I describe more detailed aspects and facets of their functions in the story.Because the novel itself is full of useful passages that have to be interpreted and questioned, I have decided to limit the secondary literature for this term paper in order to stay close to the book as much as possible.
