32 pp. Deutsch.

However, a closer look at domestic forces reveals their impact on a country¿s leadership to act on the international level in a certain way. In the following essay, I will explain what impact domestic winners and losers can have on making cooperation or conflict between states more likely. I will show that narrow interests of (prospective) winners or losers are hardly able to influence a country¿s general interest for national security or economic progress, but can make themselves heard in particular policy fields. By structuring the discussion along the issue areas of war, globalization, and environment, I will explain the relevance of power structures as well as political systems for domestic winners and losers¿ potential to influence international interactions.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 12 pp. Englisch.

One possible solution to satisfy at least the shareholders and customers is offshore outsourcing of IT/IS-services. Night Shyamalan¿s Signs is a 2002 released film that crosses the genre boundaries of science fiction, horror and mystery. In the movie, a family, grieving over the death of their beloved mother and wife, experiences a worldwide alien invasion. More particularly, Signs builds its plot upon the global appearances of crop circles as well as alien encounters. Hence, the film refers to the actual mysterious emergences of unexplained crop circles and claims of real-life alien sightings. However, the movie also deals with entirely human issues, difficulties and challenges of life such as faith, loss as well as traditional family values. Combining both, Signs explores various archetypal fears and needs of humanity by employing popular science fiction trappings.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 12 pp. Englisch.

In 2009, the conflict saw a major crisis when Europe was cut off from its essential Russian gas supplies. However, an analysis of the 2005/2006 gas dispute shows how this controversy already foreshadowed many of the problems that later caused the 2009 crisis (cf. Westphal). While the first part offers an overview of the relevant legislation, the second part aims to answer the question as to whether insider trading should be prohibited by legislation.Insider dealing refers to the use of non-public and price-sensitive information for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage and involves trading with company shares or other securities in a public financial market. Such conduct is both a criminal offence and a regulatory infringement under the civil code. There are various theories dealing with insider trading that offers arguments for and against the prohibition of insider trading. The misappropriation theory, the unfairness approach and the idea that insider dealing will negatively affect market confidence are all considered to be distinct reasons for regulating insider dealing. On the other hand, opponents argue that legalization of insider dealing would lead to increased market efficiency, fairer share pricing and fraud prevention.Despite the high costs required for prevention of insider dealing and the fact that very few if any companies have ever sued its officers for inside trading, it is widely regarded by the governments as being immoral and damaging for the markets and is therefore prohibited. The offences can be dealt with either civil or criminal regime, with the latter being far more difficult to apply in practice and thus less effective. 12 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2006 in the subject Politics - Miscellaneous, grade: 2,0, Durham University, language: English, abstract: [.] Since its official establishment in 1991, Belarus has struggled with the implementation ofdemocratic policies. The republic is a nominal democracy and was pursuing liberal reforms aftergaining independence, however, since his election in 1994, its current president AlyaksandarLukashenka, was repeatedly able to expand his almost autocratic powers. The fact that most othercountries in Eastern Europe have democratized more or less like textbook examples makesBelarus¿ autocracy a true exception. In this paper, the question will be answered whydemocratization has so far failed in post-communist Belarus. To answer this question thoroughly, it is indispensable to portrait the pre-transitionalhistory and political climate in communist Belarus (section 2.), as well as the actual transitionprocess starting in 1989 (section 3.). The research then turns to the question of how and to whatextent external actors, especially the U.S. and Europe, engaged in democratization efforts(section 4.). Eventually, the analysis of external and internal factors will answer the centralquestion of why democracy failed in Belarus (section 5.). It will be determined whetherinternational efforts have been made effectively and correctly, and also, which domestic factorsaverted a move towards democracy. The results found in this research indicate that internationalactors failed to recognize Belarus¿ exceptionalism among democratizing Eastern Europeancountries and therefore virtually missed the crucial period in which democratization was still apolitical possibility for Belarus. Most importantly, however, internal factors were mostsignificant in the authoritarian development of Belarus. Weak traditions of democracy, statehood, and national identity made and continue to make the Belarusian people an easy target fordictatorial rule. The evaluation of the transitional process in Belarus will be based on primary sources suchas official documents published by U.S. and European government authorities. Furthermorepress releases, scientific journal articles, news articles, and information from book chapters willcomplete the picture.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 28 pp. Englisch.

What aims follows the person whose name is associated with a media empire, with business enterprises and especially a huge education network in Turkey and worldwide While writing this paper the author assumes that the Fethullah Gülen movement of today is already a political power beyond the Turkish nation-state which influences the economy, media, politics and education sustainable in an immense radius according to its own interests. Therefore, the main focus of this work will be to take a brief look at the motivations, origins and goals of the movement in regard of its activity in the educational sphere. In summary, as a starting point for this paper and a general research question serves the demand: Is the Fethullah Gülen Movement just ¿ä force beyond the Turkish state, or meanwhile through its strong educational network even ¿THE¿ force beyond the Turkish Republic As a matter of fact that this a term paper and not a thesis the author will concentrate especially on the movement¿s educational engagement while claiming that it can be seen as the key for the community-transforming network. After a brief introduction into the life of Fethullah Gülen, his main point of views and convictions will be examined. In a further step the educational network of the movement and its major fields of activity will be highlighted. Afterwards, the characteristics of the movement as a power beyond the state will be explained to finally come to a conclusion in Chapter Five.Regarding the literature the author concentrates mainly on works from M. Thomas Sutpen rigorously pursues his design at all costs, not considering the possible consequences. This moral flaw in his character causes the downfall of his dynasty and the destruction of the whole family. At the end of the novel Sutpen¿s Hundred, the decaying mansion Sutpen built to accomplish his design, is burned down, together with the last descendants of the family. This tragic development of the story provokes the idea of poetic justice, where virtue is rewarded and vice is punished. But can such a sharp categorization really be applied on this complex novel In the following paper I will show whether the term poetic justice can be applied on ¿Absalom, Absalom!¿. I will take a look at the elements which might support this assumption by considering the characters¿ development and function in the novel in order to show if they support the idea of punishment or reward. However, first of all I will take a closer look at the term poetic justice in general. I will give a definition, view its origins and examine its use in historical and recent context before applying it on Faulkner¿s novel ¿Absalom, Absalom!¿.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 24 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2005 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 1,3, University of Göttingen (Seminar für Englische Philologie), course: Nineteenth-Century Fiction, language: English, abstract: In this term paper I am going to examine and compare how societal structures and social status are depicted in the fictional autobiography Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and the social satire Emma by Jane Austen. The decision for this topic and why I limited the survey to these two novels is based on several reasons. Concerning the topic I was influenced by my first reading impressions in which I was astonished at the depicted variety and importance of societal structure which thus simply inspired me to learn more about it. In respect to the selected novels my choice was more differentiated. When I started working on this paper I wanted to include Dickens¿ ¿Great Expectations¿ but soon I decided that this might lead ¿ due to the limited length of 20 pages ¿ to a quite superficial examination of the topic. Moreover, excluding Dickens appeared rational to me due to the fact that the novels by Austen and Brontë seemed to provide, with their similar themes and their female protagonists, a greater basis for comparison. Knowing that the Brontës did not like what and how Jane Austen wrote confirmed my speculations in regard of these novels providing an interesting basis for comparison. Furthermore, the thirty years which lay in between the publications of Emma (1816) and Jane Eyre (1847) make it possible to examine in how far society had changed in the meantime. Starting off with a comparative structural analysis of the novels in the backdrop of the question how social status influences the heroine¿s progresses, I want to show how much social status mattered and which consequences were connected to it. In the following sections, Emma and Jane Eyre shall be examined and compared with regard to the parts of society that play a role in them, concerning the restrictions and social mores connected with their marriage plots and in respect of the special rank governesses seem to have occupied in it. This shall be done to get an impression of the distinctions that characterised the different groups in nineteenth-century class society as well as to get an insight into the social mores that laid the foundations for it and finally to explain and understand the socially ambiguous rank of governesses. In the last section I am going to prove with the help of nineteenth-century reviews if the way and the conditions which were taken into consideration in the previous sections corresponded to or contradicted the ideas of class society of Brontë¿s and Austen¿s contemporaries.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 28 pp. Englisch.

Definition of short storiesModern short stories came into existence between 1830 and 1850 from tales and sketches. In the 19th century short stories flourished in the America, whereas in short stories Britain played a second role to the dominant novel . In the 20th century short stories were very modern, they were a reaction against the Victorian Age, where the world was a place of certainties. Short stories tried to negate these principles by reflecting changes, that were happening in the world. A new interest in psychology rose, rather than paying attention to form or style. The metaphor and symbols had a greater prominence and ambiguity became the norm especially with the loss of the all- seing, all knowing narrative voice. It is typical for the 20th century that the things left out are just as important as information put in.A short story is a work of fiction which varies in length and has not yet a clear distinction amongst professional writers, it is usually written in prose and narrative format.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 28 pp. Englisch.

Here his genius became already visible and he began to develop his own particular style of composing operas which remained so significant for him for decades. In Rome, his next domicile, it was the oratorio beside the opera he focused on. The time he spent in Italy was most formative for his further personal development. The main focus of this script is on Handel¿s London years from 1711 to 1759 where his career reached its peak. Here it was that his entirely new creation, the English oratorio became such a great success. This almost half a century brought glory, crisis and wealth to George Frideric Handel.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 36 pp. Englisch.

First I will give a short definition what Fair Trade actually is and then I will give an overview about the different Fair Trade organisations and define the standards which they follow. Then I will have a look at the producers and also the products which are available. I will analyse their sales statistic and also their market share.Fairtrade is a ¿trading partnership¿ which tries to maintain ¿respect, dialogue, transparency, and increased more fairness in international trade¿ . Fair Trade tries to better the situation of developing countries by paying a ¿fair¿ price for certain products that is higher than the market price. In the last few years, Fairtrade has becoming more and more popular in the industrialized world. The supporter¿s base is often also engaged in debates with political decision-makers in the European institutions for the purpose of making international trade fairer. Fair Trade is definitely a form of ethical consumption, because as consumption is one aspect of human behaviour that could harm other human beings.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2009 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1, University of Southampton, language: English, abstract:International business contact and cross-border company activities are not only trends these days, but were also detectable in the past century. 'The British East-India Company' or the French 'Compagnie des Isles de l'Amérique' are examples for trading companies existing in the 17th century that organized exchange of goods on a worldwide scale. Today this internationalisation of organizational economic activity occurs not only sporadic, but is part of the daily work of many businesses. The reason is the proceeding economical globalization since the 60th resulting from increasing international ties between national economies and the resulting cross-border actions and bondings of companies (Blom & Meier, 2002, p. 1). The motives of the enterprises for that development are multisided.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 16 pp. Englisch.
