Insbesondere in den 50er Jahren waren die Zahlen enorm, allein im Jahr 1955 kamen mehr als eine halbe Million Ost-Bürger in die Bundesrepublik. Während die Auswanderung bzw. Republikflucht stets ein Thema in der bundesdeutschen Öffentlichkeit war, blieb die Gegenbewegung, namentlich die West-Ost-Migration, weitestgehend unbeachtet und das obwohl auch hier die Zahlen für sich sprechen. So suchten Hunderttausende im Laufe der Jahre den Weg in die DDR. Im öffentlichen und politischen Diskurs gewann das Thema jedoch erst nach der Wende an Interesse. Auch die Geschichtswissenschaft entdeckte die deutsch-deutsche Migration als tatsächlichen Forschungsgegenstand erst spät. Dies hatte unterschiedliche Gründe. Zum einen war das Thema Zu- bzw. Abwanderung in beiden Staaten vor 1989 nicht nur eine rein statistische Angelegenheit, sondern war auch Gradmesser für den Erfolg des entsprechenden politischen Systems. Insbesondere in der DDR interpretierte man hohe Zuwanderungszahlen als Legitimation für den neu gegründeten sozialistischen Staat und dies wurde auch dementsprechend propagiert.Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, den komplexen Verlauf der West-Ost-Migration darzustellen. Erstens soll das Wanderungsgeschehen in Hinsicht auf Volumen, Verlaufsformen und Strukturen untersucht werden. Zweitens soll das Wanderungsverhalten analysiert werden. Aspekte der Untersuchungen sind hier Schub- und Anziehungskräfte der Ausgangs- und Zielräume, unterschiedliche Motivationen bzw. Dabei können wir nicht auf die besonderen stilistischen Zweifelsfälle, die in Der Dativ ist dem Genitiv sein Tod vorgestellt werden, eingehen, da die Überprüfung dieser sprachlichen Varianten die Möglichkeiten und den Rahmen der Hausarbeit überschreiten würde. Außerdem vermuten wir, dass es dazu oft keine sicheren Quellen gibt und damit der Zweifelsfall zwar als solcher kategorisiert werden kann, allerdings keine allgemeine Richtung in der deutschen Sprache zu erkennen ist. Und auf diese wollen wir uns hier besonders konzentrieren. Des weiteren ist das Buch mit 229 Seiten sehr umfangreich, so werden wir nicht alle vorgestellten Zweifelsfälle näher beleuchten können. Die Unterteilung der Hausarbeit in die Unterpunkte 3. und 4. dient lediglich der leichteren Unterscheidung der Teile, der dritte Teil ist von Frau Plenge geschrieben und der vierte von Frau Beneze. The labor force of the newly arrived women enabled the growth of New York City's garment industry.According to some statistics of Min Zhou and Regina Nordquist, the concentration of immigrant Chinese women in the garment industry was - and still is - extraordinary. Almost 85% of the work force in Chinatown's garment industry are immigrant women, and the largest group of them are Chinese immigrant women (Zhou/ Nordquist 262). Because of the large-scale immigration after 1965 and the large supply of female work force, the garment industry of New York City's Chinatown continued to be based on low-cost immigrant labor (Zhou/ Nordquist 261). Overall, more than half of Chinese women find jobs in garment factories. Because of the obvious dominance of Chinese immigrant women's labor force in the garment industry, this research paper will concentrate on them.Although these women earn only minimum or even lower wages, the labor force participation rate of them is exceptional high: 73% (Zhou/ Nordquist 264). One can distinguish between person, local and time deixis. Special to deictics is the fact that they are meaningless unless we know who speaks and thus forms the center of orientation - the origo . Personal pronouns, however, form a category of person deixis. They relate to either the addressee or to someone talked about in a conversation, they 'characterize the referent as well with respect to the speech act role and the size of the respective speaker and hearer groups.' In a discourse, personal pronouns lexicalize the relation between the origo, which is the cognitive ground for an act of pointing, and the intended referent, who is the figure of the pointing act. Unlike in local or time deixis, this intended referent is a human being (I will omit the situations when human beings speak to animals here), not an inanimate thing like a piece of furniture or an abstract unit like for example a time span - in short, it makes a difference if I say something like: 'Here is the green chair', or 'It rained really hard yesterday.' or if I speak either about 'I have met that Mrs. Jones' or directly to 'You can leave the room now' other persons.
