B. das geknickte Rohr, den glimmend…en Docht. Inhaltlich erschließt sich die Aussage des Textes nicht so ohne Weiteres: Wer spricht zu wem Wer ist mit dem Knecht gemeint, und was genau ist seine Aufgabe Welches Recht ist gemeint, und was genau bedeutet der Bund Ab Vers 5 ist klar ersichtlich, dass es um den Gott Israels geht, den Schöpfergott, der seinen Knecht behütet, der der einzige Gott ist, allmächtig und allwissend. Das Jesajabuch steht im Zusammenhang mit dem babylonischen Exil. Viele Texte daraus werden zu Weihnachten gelesen. Das erste Got-tesknechtlied ist in der Perikopenordnung dem ersten Sonntag nach Epiphanias zugeord-net. In diesem Zusammenhang kenne ich die Deutung, dass Jesaja Leben und Sterben Jesu vorausgesagt habe, dass also das ganze Buch wie auch andere Teile des Ersten Testaments als prophetische Ankündigung des Messias Jesus zu verstehen sind. Demnach ist Jesus der Knecht. Aber diese Deutung ist eine speziell christliche Sicht.

Es existiert eine Vielzahl von ungesicherten Informationen über das Thema, so dass die Vor- und Nachteile des Cloud Computings bei Unternehmen bzw. IT-Entscheidern oft im Verborgenen bleiben. Bei der Auseinandersetzung mit demThema wird die Realität bestehender IT-Strukturen in Unternehmen oft vernachlässigt.So stellt sich die Frage, ob sich die Geschäftsprozesse eines Unternehmens überhauptfür eine Cloud-Infrastruktur eignen, und ob sich dadurch Vorteile für die Unternehmung ableiten lassen.

Mit dem Front-End-Tool QuartusII kann danach die physikalische Synthese vorgenommen werden.Als Ergebnis kann festgestellt werden, dass heutige High-Level-Synthese-Tools das Systemdesign produktiver und schneller gestalten. Der Entwurf mit Hilfe solcher Tools erscheint angenehmer und intuitiver, jedoch sollten die erzeugten Daten nochmals untersucht werden. Von blindem Vertrauen auf das Ergebnis ist abzuraten. Da vorliegend nur einfache Grundschaltungen getestet werden, kann eine Aussage wie sich diese Tools bei größeren Schaltungen verhalten nicht getroffen werden.Abschließend ist Festzustellen, dass Grafische Lösungsansätze keine wirklichen Lösungendarstellen. Größere Bedeutung wird in Zukunft wohl den Systembeschreibungssprachen zukommen.

Tindall: 12-28). Although the first immigrants to America were mostly English, there have been many cultural groups following their paths and building up their existence in the 'New World'. Germans, Dutch, Italians or Jews are just some of the many people who escaped from their home countries to start a new life in the United States. Their arrival in the new country often led to conflicts. If they were not physical then at least on a verbal basis did the immigrants face the mistrust and often even the hate of the American people. (cf. Tindall: 716-723)With the growing industrialization and the need for new, free labor, Africans were brought to the United States against their wills. Thereby, the problem of interethnic or interracial conflicts was even further complicated. Some consider this racist policy of 'importing' people for work purposes as the basis for American prosperity until today. The resulting discrimination of Blacks, however, remains a discussion topic even nowadays and is the source of many conflicts in American history, let alone the main reason for the last war that was fought on American territory - the Civil War in the 1860's (cf. Tindall: 487-492).One century later, during the 1960's, African-Americans were tired of their legal and personal oppression and started to demand the rights promised to them by the Proclamation Declaration but that had not really been practised in reality. The emergence of the Black Power movement, mainly by the Black Panthers, marked an important step in the Black people's emasculation from the chains of inequality. (cf. Tindall: 1160-1164). Nevertheless, segregation (the legal separation of Black and White) was still prevalent and not even in 2004 can we speak of equal opportunities for both races in the USA.With 'Sons of Darkness, Sons of Light', John A. Williams, an Afro-American author, tried to present an attempt of how to change circumstances for Blacks in America. His novel, first published in 1969 and envisioning America at the beginning of the 1970's, may not have had a lot of critical acclaim, but in my opinion is a valuable source for interpreting the multi-faceted interethnic encounters in the United States of the late 196o's. 20 pp. Englisch.

For the analysis part of my study I chose to use Twitter as my data source. As a country I chose the US since its government is quite involved with social media and it provides plenty of content to analyze.In addition I will present some interesting findings from articles I collected from websites, blogs and newspapers. This should give the reader an idea about the topic and help to follow the empirical part of this paper. Throughout this paper I will try to stay as objective as possi-ble on this controversial topic.The main question of my empirical study will be: What is the overall tonality of tweets deal-ing with the topic 'The US government is monitoring social media'. In order to be able to answer this question I have analyzed and described many Tweets with on online Archive to which I will talk more about on a later stage. 20 pp. Englisch.

Whereas some authors regard Haywood's works as central cornerstones of either the genre of the novel or women's writing in general (or both), others hardly mention her and if so, Eliza Haywood is presented more as a public figure in the early eighteenth century or for the arguments she had with contemporary writers like Jonathan Swift or Alexander Pope (cf. Probyn 229f.) than as a competitive writer.A similar phenomenon can be noticed in the way in which her novel Fantomina; or, Love in a Maze is included. Again, some authors make Fantomina and the female protagonist the center of their studies (especially in cases where the main focus is on the role of women), others consider it not even worth mentioning, even when selecting works by Haywood for a special edition (cf. Backscheider). All this leads to the conclusion that Fantomina (or Haywood in general) is especially relevant for writers dealing with the role of women in literature, either as writers or as protagonists within the actual works.The concept of gender as the distinction between male and female entities is one which has been developed in the 20th century and is at the same time especially a matter of English language. Many other languages express gender with the same word they use for genre (cf. Skinner 53) or for sex1. However, gender roles have also been an issue in literature before before the term's introduction. In this paper, I will first discuss whether the rise of the novel and Eliza Haywood as a writer have been promotive elements to gender issues in literature. Secondly, I will use some selected elements of Fantomina to examine gender-related questions in the plot and finally, I will use the conclusion to point out the gender roles represented in Fantomina with respect to the time it was written in. 16 pp. Englisch.

That means it shows whether the action is finished or is still in progress. The English verb system includes the perfective aspect, the progressive aspect, the simple aspect and the perfect-progressive aspect. (Quirk et al. 1979: 40)In the following an overview of the tense past combined with the perfective aspect will be given. The focus lies with the well known Restaurant Script and the Travel Frame. Intr.In the early 70s the US linguist Charles J. Fillmore introduced the notion of frame. The aim was 'to widen the scope of lexical and grammatical analysis' (Ungerer & Schmid 2006:207) The initial interpretation of the term, however soon change into a cognitive way. In 1992 Fillmore talks about frames as 'cognitive structure [.] knowledge of which is presupposed for the concepts encoded by words.' (Ungerer & Schmid 2006:210) We can state that the notion of frames shifted from being a linguistic construct towards a cognitive one. But not only in linguistics has the frame notion been used, but also in terms of artificial intelligence, namely computer, which have become part of our daily lives and irreplaceable just as language itself.Concl.In total we can say that the notion of frame laid the foundation for scripts and event-frames. Both contributed to improve the understanding of the way people hear, speak and think. Scripts were developed or introduced to 'account for knowledge structures that represent larger sequences of events by casual chains.' (Ungerer & Schmid 2006: 217) Furthermore are script a necessity for computer scientists to feed computers with information in order to create a kind of artificial intelligence. Without these structures and information of standard situations and the behavior concerning it, computers would not be able to process the information given which could be seen on the example of the definite article in the first little story about football. Especially examples like the Restaurant Script can be used to explain the properties of scripts in general. Event-frames were designed to widen the scope of the linguistic analysis. This means in particular taking into account parts of sentences which before had not been examined like adverbials or even expressions that are not contained in the written form. Furthermore are event-frames interesting in terms of language acquisition and use in different languages, which could be seen with the story 'Frog, where are you ' Here it becomes clear that satellite-framed languages like English seem to be more feasible when it comes to describing motion as the MANNER is incorporated in the PATH. Toklas, published in 1933, was the first book of Gertrude Stein to receive wide public attention and become a commercial success. Though the title declares Alice B. Toklas the alleged subject of the autobiography, it is in fact the story of Gertrude Stein s life. Until the composition of The Autobiography, Stein s work had only been supported by a small circle and had been rejected by the Anglo-American press and publishers. The unprecedented success of her autobiography has mainly been attributed to its reader-friendly language which stood in sharp contrast to the experimental nature of her earlier writing which seized the understanding of many. But there is a second reason for the sudden triumph of her writing. Around the turn of the century, the interest in the author-figure increased significantly and with it the number of writer s autobiographies. According to Louis Kaplan's bibliography of American autobiographies, between 1880 and 1920 only 113 autobiographies were written by journalists or authors. In the following twenty years, 'authors produced ten times as many.' By dedicating a piece of writing to the genre of the autobiography, which is strongly linked to celebrating someone s personality, Gertrude Stein could be confident to receive attention. Her name had already been circulating frequently in the popular press. The American expatriate author, who spent most of her life in Paris, 'was considered a rite of passage into the modernist movement' and was known for her collection of modern art and her weekly salons. It was the curiosity in her personality and in that of the well-known guests at the Saturday salon at the Rue de Fleurus which boosted The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas. With its name-dropping, characterisations, and the gossip about the people who came and went at the Saturday salons, it nourished the appetite of the American audience for the lives of famous people, such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Henri Rousseau, Guillaume Apollinaire, Paul Cezanne and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Stieglitz, Carl van Vechten, and Ernest Hemingway. As The Autobiography can be considered a response to the overall interest of the readers in personalities, it is worth studying how the text depicts identities. This focus of inquiry centres on the author-figure Gertrude Stein as well as all the other representatives of the Parisian avant-garde scene. 32 pp. Englisch.

While some celebrate him as one of the most ingenious writers in America, if not in the world, others reject him for the fact that they consider him racist, sexist, elitist and anti-democratic. However, both sides are - in one way or the other - fascinated by Poe and his works, who has thus become one of the most discussed American authors.This paper will examine a specific part of Poe's manifold bibliography, namely a selection of short stories, and work out how names are used to establish, convey or support a certain attitude or underlying meaning. Yet the objects of investigation are not necessarily solely names of the characters, since Poe has also assigned certain names to, for instance, buildings (in The Fall of the House of Usher) or beverages (in The Cask of Amontillado), which are not less important to the respective stories than the characters' names and are therefore to be taken into consideration as well.In order to assume a certain theoretical background, this paper will start with a brief description of the general way in which Edgar Allan Poe wrote (and intended to write) literary texts in order to help to estimate which relevance should be assigned to specific details (names). A second theoretical section deals with the overall function of names in literature. What follows is the analytic part of this paper, namely the analysis of the significance of certain names in four of Poe's short stories. The analysis will start with The Fall of the House of Usher as both one of the most famous and one of the most controversially discussed of Poe's tales and deal with the way how names support the story's interpretation. The next section will deal with The Cask of Amontillado, adding special emphasis on the reliability of the narrator, based on the way in which the story is told and names are used. Thirdly, the center of attention will be Poe's The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether and, accordingly, political references which are conveyed by the use of names. Finally, The Mystery of Marie Rogêt is analyzed as an example of a story which was written after real events. Here, it is especially rather the question for the reasons of the renaming than the question for the origin of the respective name (which in this case is not only obvious, but also explained in the story itself.(.) 32 pp. Englisch.
