First printing. 6.75 x 9 x 1.5 inches (box, closed). Forty two printed pieces, on a wide variety of colors and types of paper stock, housed in a folding cardboard box. Edition of one thousand copies, of which one hundred were numbered and signed. Printed paper cover of box with light edge-wear and a crack along one fold, otherwise very good. Some age-toning to a few pieces (particularly those on more acidic papers), and foxing to the embossed blotter (as usual), otherwise contents very good to fine. An "extended" version of the artist's book originally published by the Copley Foundation in 1965, this iteration of the Copley Buch contains drawings, posters, and prints of various sizes, including several mounted on stiff board and others folded multiple times to fit into the box, along with a title page/colophon sheet. As ever, Roth's preoccupation with process is evident throughout, with dozens of reproductions of marked-up proofs and layouts. A self-assemblage, a book about the making of many books.
