Soft cover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. First edition of this important early survey of Tom Phillips' work, published in 1975 by Edition Hansjörg Mayer. Works Texts to 1974 documents Phillips' multidisciplinary practice across painting, text-based work, photography, and conceptual projects, including material related to A Humument. The book captures a formative period in postwar British conceptual and visual art, with strong connections to experimental publishing and artist's book traditions. This copy bears the Nathaniel Tarn bookplate on the front endpaper, linking it to the library of the poet, anthropologist, and translator (born Edward Michael Mendelson, also published as E. Michael Mendelson). Tarn's collection is especially rich in avant-garde, small press, and cross-disciplinary artistic works, making this a highly appropriate and desirable association copy. Softcover as issued. Covers show light wear and handling, including mild edge wear and some surface rubbing, with a small crease visible. Interior is clean and well preserved, with no markings noted beyond the Tarn bookplate. A solid example of a sought-after Mayer publication. A desirable title for collectors of conceptual art, artist's books, and postwar British art, with added provenance appeal. Author: Tom Phillips Publisher: Edition Hansjörg Mayer Year: 1975 Special attributes: First edition, illustrated, Nathaniel Tarn provenance bookplate Topic: Conceptual art, artist's books, postwar British art Subject: Tom Phillips, A Humument, experimental publishing, visual text Keywords: Tom Phillips, Hansjörg Mayer, A Humument, conceptual art, artist book, Tarn library, British art, 1970s art Condition: Good. Light cover wear and handling, interior clean with Tarn bookplate Location: Nt-b110. Yes, illustrated. (illustratore).

Paperback. Condizione: Good in wraps. 17 x 24cm good paperback, some slight browning to pages. In 1969 Roth began planning Collected Works, a self-published twenty-volume catalogue raisonnÈ that would contain, collect, classify, organize, and document much of the work he had made to date. A testament to his ongoing impulse toward accumulation, Collected Works shows the duality of his approach, both chaotic and organized. The books were not issued sequentially (Volume 15 was published first), nor did they present the artist s work chronologically, but all were the same trim size, allowing for the economical reuse of material at the printer. He took the opportunity to review, and in some cases, amend the original artworks, and also issued deluxe editions of each volume, creating special covers that pertained to their contents including a croissant-encrusted cover for Volume 6. Dieter Roth was a Swiss artist who gained recognition for his diverse body of work, which included artist's books, editioned prints, sculpture, and creations from found materials, including rotting foodstuffs. He was also known as Dieter Rot and Diter Rot.

Paperback. Condizione: Very good in wraps. 17 x 24cm very good paperback.
