The result of analysis revealed that the participants employed meta-cognitive l…istening strategies the most, followed by cognitive and socio-affective listening strategies, and in terms of learning styles, they preferred communicative styles the most and concrete styles the least. Their second and third styles were analytical and authority-oriented. The finding also indicated that both male and female learners utilized meta-cognitive, cognitive and socio-affective listening strategies sequentially. Whereas, the mean scores indicated that male students employed each listening strategy more often than females. The Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between learning styles and listening strategies employed by the students. Therefore, EFL teachers should involve learning styles into listening strategy instruction. This would help them which kinds of listening strategies should be focused and how to deal with learners.

Paddy harvesting is still widely conducted by both men and women farm workers by making use of hand tool namely sickle. A reaper attachment mounted at front of mini (small) tractor and a self propelled reaper were used to conduct mechanized harvesting of paddy crop. Comparison of different paddy harvesting methods revealed that mechanical crop harvesting caused about 40 to 60% cost reduction along with timeliness that could save ready-to-harvest field crop (paddy) against failure due to unseasonal rains by completing harvest operation in short duration and well in time. 84 pp. Englisch.

The model is derived using the known neuronal groups, and their various projections, involved with sleep and wake. Inherent in the derivation is the existence of a s…low time scale associated with homeostatic regulation, and a faster time scale associated with the dynamics within the sleep phase. A significant feature of the model is that it does not contain a periodic forcing term, common in other models, reflecting the fact that sleep/wake is not dependent upon a diurnal stimulus. Once derived, the model is analyzed using a linearized stability analysis. We then use experimental data from normal sleep-wake systems and orexin knockout systems to verify the physiological validity of the equations. 56 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The response of vegetable cowpea (Vigna unguiculata [L.] walp) to intra-row spacing and defoliation was investigated at Plateau State College of Agriculture, Garkawa, (latitude10011 'N and longitude 8021 E) in the southern guinea s…avanna ecological zone during the 2008 and 2009 wet seasons. The treatments consisted of four intra-row spacings (20, 30, 40 and 50 centimetres) and four defoliation rates (0, 25, 50 and 75 percentages). These treatments were factorially combined and laid out in a randomized complete block design, with three replications. Results obtained showed that vegetable cowpea growth parameters (plant height, shoot fresh weight per plant and shoot dry weight per plant) increased significantly with close intra-row spacing. Similarly green pod yield increased significantly with decreasing levels of intra-row spacing. The intra-row spacing of 20cm yielded 5.7g edible leaf yields per plot which was significantly higher than 5.1g at 30cm in 2008. 76 pp. Englisch.

In both studies, tests were performed with 24 participants by using driving simulator. Two Smartphone based apps, Sa…fe Forward Collision Warning (SFCW) and Safe Worker to Driver (SWD) were developed by using MITapp inventor 2. In the first test, participants were travelled advanced warning area with four (visual, sound, male and female voice) different kinds of warning messages generated to inform the accident at the end of the advanced warning area. Similarly in the second test, three (sound, male and female voice) warning messages were developed to inform driver about the worker crossing in activity area of work zone. In these two tests, obtained data from driving simulator test, was analyzed and compared with the base scenario. These test results and statistical analysis indicated that participants with voice warning, either male or female voice warning, were successfully able to reduce their speed and acceleration in both tests. Participants were able to increase their headway distance and headway time and applied earlier brake with the assist of voice warning. 88 pp. Englisch.

My findings also provide further evidence that fever and hyperalgesia do not necessarily occur concomitantly after an immunological challenge.
