A common method for implementing grassroots theory in developing countries is through microfinance institutions. Investor decision theory, supported by the data from this study, raises concerns over the validity of grassroots development theory as a valid tool for economic growth in developing countries. While individual MFIs have encouraging performance, the aggregate of MFI loans globally are too small to measurably impact developing nations economies. Thus, for grassroots development theories to be implemented successfully, there needs to be an expansion of MFIs capitalization structure. External economy of Ukraine is an issue of high interest of economists because Ukraine takes one of the first places in the world regarding the rate of ration of fo…reign-trade to GNP. The reasons for diversification of Ukrainian trade are quite clear. Ukraine will be less sensitive to the shocks on the world markets of products in case of more diversified trade. So export diversification decreases the risks from the unstable demand of the trade partners. This paper uses the recent developments in the international trade theory that considers the fact that some firms export, some do not to investigate the pattern of export diversification. Using a gravity model the highly disaggregated trade data in the period from 2001 to 2007 was analyzed. It was found that intensive margin is the most important share of the trade growth. As for extensive margin we can conclude that geographical extensive margin is more important than product extensive for the growth of export. Both an outcome and a propelling factor, the available acc…ommodation in the major seaside resorts has boosted by 20-25% on a year-to-year basis, thus surpassing the demand level increase by some 10-12%. In the meantime, symptoms for loss of overall destination competitiveness as regards current tendencies in the global tourism industry have been identified, thus revealing critical deficiencies in the existing planning and management models of the major Bulgarian coastal destinations. The study reflects the multidimensional analysis approach endorsed by authors such as Moutinho (2000), Toledo et el. (2000) and Crouch and Ritchie (2003), so providing a profound look into the multiple factors determining the destination s degree of competitiveness. As a consequence, the applied methodology allowed for an exhaustive analysis of the dynamics of the destination s current development, amplifying in this way the span of the study beyond tourism-specific aspects. 96 pp. Englisch.

It is argued by many scholars that the ruling clan of the president Akaev could not stay in power for a long because it did not have enough resources to buy elite s support. Comparing the cases of the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan the research finds that role of resources does not play the assumed crucial role for the ruling elites to stay in power. The ability of the ruling clan to negotiate clan pacts and keep them stable, balancing and respecting other pact members, is the main explanatory factor contributing to regime durability in the cases researched. 60 pp. Englisch.
