The former contains typical elements from K¿koku thought, and the latter presents views that are typical of Bukoku thought. The common understanding has been that the idea of Japan as Bukoku emerged early in the Edo period and was later weakened as a result of the increasing popularity of K¿koku. However, the two texts show K¿koku in a time where Bukoku thought was more common, and vice versa. In many of these applications, inorganic salts are present in the aqueous phase along with surfactant. These salts strongly influence the adsorption characteristics of ionic surfactants. Stability of aqueous foams and hexane-in-water emulsions prepared with aqueous solutions of an anionic surfactant (viz. SDS) and three 1:1 salts (viz. LiCl, NaCl and CsCl) was studied in this work. The ion-specific behavior of the salts was the main focus of this study. The effectiveness of these salts in defoaming followed the sequence: LiCl > NaCl > CsCl. The same trend was observed in destabilizing the emulsions. The present work demonstrates that the ion-specific effect plays a significant role in the foaming properties of anionic surfactant solutions, size of the droplets in an emulsion, and the rate of destabilization of emulsions. The cultivation of alien plant species imported from distant regions of the world has been recognized as important component of urban vegetation. This study aims at assessing the woody plant wealth of urban green spaces in terms of density, richness and composition, and investigating resident¿s views and attitudes related to their satisfaction by the current condition of the green areas. We recorded 96 plant species, from 77 genera and 38 families. Most represented families were Rosaceae (14 species) (18.18%), Cupressaceae (11 species) (14.28%) and Fabaceae (5 species) (6.49%). More specific, the results of this study showed that only 41.6% of trees were Greek native species and 58.4% were exotic. The most frequently occurred and abundant woody species were Platanus orientalis and Thuja orientalis (60%), and Ligustrum japonicum (N=588) and Thuja orientalis (N=258), respectively. Cluster and statistical analysis was used to find a single representative value of the particle shape parameters from 5 different sand samples. With that, the behaviour of the shear strength and dilatancy parameters of granular soils was able to be understood clearly. The WRF showed high ability to downscale NCEP-DOE Reanalysis-2, especially for the precipitation simulation. After land degradation over GKP, the net radiation and evaporation were reduced mainly within the desertification area, consistent with the reduction in rainfall and the increase in surface temperature there. The southwest monsoon flow from the Bay of Bengal was weakened over the adjacent area to the northeast, influencing the East Asian summer monsoon. Meanwhile, the weaker low-layer anti-cyclone and the stronger horizontal convergence enhanced the vertical motion in the southeastern coastal areas. Furthermore, owing to the decreased surface heating in the degradation experiment, the lifting over GKP and neighboring regions to the east was limited, which resulted in the reduced rainfall within GKP and strengthened the ascending motion downstream over 114°-122°E.
