The study of comparisons indicated that the most frequently used logo colour for both UK and Japan companies was blue, followed by white, red and black, whereas the least frequently used colour was brown. Red and black were more frequently used for logos in Japan than in the UK, white was more frequently used in the UK than in Japan. The psychophysical experiments provided an evidence that logo colour was strongly associated with industrial sector and with semantic meaning. Furthermore, new guidelines for logo colour design were developed to consider the relationships between colour, semantic meaning and industrial sector.

Game theoretical analyses are applied in order to develop the argument of this study. Interaction between the US and Iran is analyzed by u…sing two different forms of games, complete and incomplete information; and two different methods, backwards induction and Bayes s theorem. It is concluded that Iran s nuclear pursuit is mostly security based and the nuclear tension between Iran and the US creates a vicious circle. While Iran is going for nuclear weapons primarily to protect itself against the enemy states, the US challenge to Iran s nuclear pursuit poses a security threat to Iran and makes Iranians much more eager to develop their own nuclear weapon capability. If Iranians are not bluffing and if they are determined to get the nuclear weapons, primarily because of security considerations, sooner or later Iran will have them. Furthermore, higher leveraged firms are discovered to improve their performance by aggressive financing of their business with debt. The method to perform the analysis is a direct comparison of both routes across three dimensions: general factors,…technology, and probability of detection using intelligence collection means. Three conclusions are derived from the analysis. First, using uranium enrichment to produce fissile material requires less time, fewer steps, and is less expensive than using plutonium production to produce fissile material. Second, technology availability and complexity have been the main barriers for states to acquire significant quantities of fissile material. Third, the uranium enrichment route is less detectable than the plutonium production route by modern intelligence collection means. The conclusions derived from the analysis imply that if a state were to choose between uranium enrichment and plutonium production for fissile material acquisition today, it will likely choose the uranium enrichment. Policy recommendations are developed to ensure that uranium enrichment route is addressed properly in the light of the anticipated nuclear renaissance. 76 pp. Englisch.

The main thrust of space communications to-date has been to provide reliabl…e communications between ground mission control and a single spacecraft. Little work has been reported on developing a secure as well as a reliable mode of communications in a deep space satellite network. Our main objective is to develop an algorithm that can increase the reliability (such as in terms of minimum energy consumption) and security in the communications path while minimizing overheads. We realize this by assigning costs to every node and links in the path and then optimally selecting a path with the lowest cost that is also secure. We develop an algorithm to efficiently compute a secure and reliable communications path at minimum cost. The proposed approach is compared to a shortest path approach. Simulation results indicate that although the proposed approach yields slightly longer paths, it provides a more efficient approach in terms of energy distribution as well as secure paths. 68 pp. Englisch.

Ther…efore, it is expected that documenting these pre-research findings would provide preliminary data on future investigations regarding Muslims use of the Internet. The study found that the level of 'educative' and 'informative' articles on Islamic propagation displayed on Muslim home pages was still very low. These home pages were found to contain more 'informative' type of articles, a type that concentrated on news about Muslims affairs around the world rather than on propagating Islam. The result of the study disclosed that 48% of information on Muslim home pages was 'informative', and only 37% of the sites were found to be 'educative' on Islamic doctrinal issues. And 'other' information amounts to 15%. In addition to this, considerable amount of misinformation about Islam were found to be present in some Christian sites. 92 pp. Englisch.

Analysis of machined surface images of different m…aterials by turning and shaping process at different wear conditions cutting tool, grabbed using CCD camera are presented. An amplitude parameters based approach for analysis of machined surfaces is proposed. Machined surfaces with different wear conditions of the cutting tool i.e., sharp, semidull and dull are investigated by using surface metrology software and also with conventional method using stylus instrument for comparative purpose. However, considerably less work has been performed on the development of surface texture of machined work piece that provide information on the condition of the cutting tool, employed in machining the surface. A non contact method using machine vision is presented for inspecting surface roughness. A strong correlation between tool wear and surface roughness of the machined surfaces is found.It is proved that,this approach is effective in measuring the condition of the cutting tool through amplitude parameters. 116 pp. Englisch.

The majority of the population of Yaounde uses tap water exclusively for drinking while depending on groundwater for other domestic purposes. The mean… per capita daily tap water consumption in Yaounde is 19.29 litres while the mean per capita groundwater consumption is 32.94 litres. Only 44.12% of the population of Yaounde have SNEC (Socièté Nationale Des Eaux du Cameroun) connections at home while the rest of the population buy their tap water from vendors at exorbitant prices. The over-dependence on groundwater is driven by lack of access to tap water, which is regarded as an improved source but which only a few can afford in sufficient quantities. Domestic water quality in Yaounde is strained by poor sanitation owed to the abandonment of large quantities of waste and the disposal of raw sewage in the environment. Only 12.75% of the population of Yaounde disposes of their household waste exclusively by handing it to HYSACAM (Hygienne et Salubrité du Cameroun) while the rest of the population either dumps part or all of their waste. 116 pp. Englisch.
