A sample of forty firms drawn from cottage industries, small scale enterprises,…medium scale enterprises and large scale firms were drawn from the population,using stratified sampling. The major findings of the study are that (a) only 17 percent of the firms engaged in deliberate and systematic strategic management, (b) 57 percent were disorganized in their practice of strategic management and 25 percent made no attempt whatsoever (c)The economic and the industry/competitive factors were found to be the most favorable factors for the firms (d) Strategic management was found to be positively related to corporate success. The study concluded that most Entrepreneurship firms are involved in some level of strategic management and that strategic management improves corporate success, and thus recommends that managers need to be more organized in their practice of strategic management in order to facilitate the growth and success of their firms. 88 pp. Englisch.

There were 74 students… (33 nursing students and 41 medical students) randomly selected to participate in this study and a self-administered questionnaire was given and collected at the same time. Independent t-test was used and p-value 0.05 was accepted statistically significant. The finding from this study revealed that overall, nursing students were more knowledgeable about CAMs, possessed positive attitudes, and more willing to practice CAMs in clinical area compared to medical students. Null hypothesis was rejected at 5% significant level. It is suggested that the inclusion of CAM in nursing curriculum will prepare nursing student as a good future nurses who is knowledgeable to respond patient's questions related to CAM therapies. 80 pp. Englisch.

In the Classical background, this problem is strictly related to the field of hypotheses testing, since most of the tools used by Classical statisticians, to support such type of decision, are tests over parameters in the model or likelihood ratios. In spite of this, Bayesian theory allows us to tackle this problem in a more general setting that does not necessarily coincide with the hypotheses testing approach, leading us to the point that a threshold between these two settings is needed. However it is not clear yet where the hypotheses testing ends, and the model selection begins. A possible key to the solution of this matter lies on the definition of a statistical model, and more specifically of a nested model. In this view detailed methods for soil stabilization are discussed .Detailed studies on Bitumen usage and their application have also been carried out and different laboratory and field tests that are required to ensure the strength and other geotechnical properties of soils using bitumen have been discussed. Also the usage related to the properties of bitumen like in buildings, hydraulic structures and pavement construction have been studied .Information regarding the uses of soil stabilization in Pakistan have also been carried out. We first collect ~44,000 named entities from a thesaurus which is constru…cted by Dekang Lin applying a word similarity measure based on their distributional pattern. Using their similarity metrics and CLUTO clustering software, we create 2000 semantically similar clusters of the named entities. Then we collect ~305,500 label-instance pairs from the 2007 English Wikipedia dump and implement a labeling algorithm presented by Benjamin Van Durme and M.Pasça (2008) to assign a label to the clusters. This automatic lableing task is able to assign a label which describes the majority of the named entities in 924 of the clusters, which is 46.2% of the total clusters. Finally we evaluate both the clustering and labeling tasks taking 86 randomly selected clusters and on the bases of two native English speaker evaluators subjective judgment. According to these evaluators, the clustering task has a purity score of 0.7 and 55% of the labels are acceptable with different degree of accuracy. 64 pp. Englisch.

The developed DLs are often construc…ted from facsimile pages with pre-existing metadata, such as historic newspapers stored on microfiche or generated from the non- destructive scanning of precious manuscripts. Access to the source documents is therefore limited to methods constructed from the metadata. Other projects look to introduce full-text indexing through the application of off-the-shelf commercial Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software. While this has greater potential for the end user experience over the metadata-only versions, the approach currently taken is best effort in the time available rather than a process informed by detailed analysis of the issues. In this thesis, we investigate if a richer level of support and service can be achieved by more closely integrating image processing techniques with DL software. This thesis presents my recent studies on Knowledge Transfer (KT) the process of transferring knowledge from one task to another, which is at the core of MTL. The novelly proposed KT algorithm for correlated MTL adapts learner independence, thus empowering any ordinary classifier for MTL. The proposed MEB-based KT is on the basis that in the feature space, the two correlated tasks share some common input data that lie on the overlapping regions of the feature spaces in-between the two correlated tasks. The main idea is to find the correlating knowledge overlapping regions of the two tasks and transfer the related data regardless of the learner employed. KT is done by building a correlation space via MEBs and transferring the enclosed instances from the primary task to the secondary task. The extent of KT depends on the amount of overlapping instances between two tasks. This book is required reading for post-graduates and researchers in MTL. 88 pp. Englisch.

Experiments are conducted to gain a clear picture of how drying variable affects the mechanical properties of dried leathers. Shorter drying time and proper initial water content are favorable conditions to produce stronger and softer leather. Possibility have been explored of using mass quantity such as drying rate to generalize relationship between drying variables and mechanical properties. From the experiments, it can be concluded that by vacuum drying process stronger and softer leather can be achieved, which will have high tensile strength, grain crack strength and tongue tear strength.
