Specifically, by modifying and applying the empirical methodology designed by Bollerslev and Melvin (1994), we examine the relationship between bid-as…k spreads and the underlying volatility of the USD/SGD. Our data set comprises high-frequency USD/SGD tick data of three separate periods (April-June 1989, April-May 2006, April-May 2009). We found that for the USD/SGD: i) the size of bid-ask spreads are positively related to the underlying exchange rate volatility; ii) the magnitude of the dependence on underlying volatility increases as tick volume increases; and iii) the size of the bid-ask spreads may also be positively related to the directional movement of exchange rates. A study of electric field distribution in the brain is required to interpret and improve the action of DBS. In this master thesis project, Voreen was extended to visualize a multimodal volume of the CT and MR images. The MR volume was segmented to extract the brain from the skull in T1 weighted images. Some image processing techniques were developed to enhance the contrast of CT and MR images. In order to stimulate electric field in the brain, the neurologists are allowed to design and position the electrodes in the reconstructed volume. The electrodes and some pre-modeled electric fields can be visualized in the reconstructed volume and the slice views. Negative correlations were also existed between factors affecting nurse physician communication and patient outcomes. In this an experimental investigation has been carried out to study combined effect of chosen parameters moisture and temperature & also to study the rate & magnitude of damage of GFRP sandwich structure composites under hygrothermal loading conditions. The sandwich structure composed of E-glass fibre, polystyrene (thermocol core) and epoxy resin were subjected to three point bending test to assess bending strength. Two thermocol cores with different thickness (8mm and 16mm) were investigated. It has been observed that the sandwich structure with higher core thickness withstand a higher bending load show less flexural stress and flexure modulus when compared with low core thickness. Higher percent bending pre-loads lead to higher degradation in maximum flexure load as well as flexure modulus and flexure stress. 112 pp. Englisch.

The stability of linear telegraph systems is discussed by applying theorems from the previous chapters. Since then, there has been some progress in various aspects of formal specifications; the introduction of specification slicing methods, slice-based specification metrics, and methods for visualization of specifications has opened new ways for measuring properties of specifications with more metrics. Nevertheless, there hasn t been much progress in the field of cost estimation using recent achievements of formal specifications. The main focus in this work is to examine if there is a correlation between formal Z specification measures and implementation related measures. In this work we proposed that dividing the problem space into (n) number of parts can give better result.We organized the book as follows,in Chapter 2, we discussed Divide-and-Conquer algorithm and Closest-Pair problem. In Chapter 3, we reviewed previous works about Divide-and- Conquer algorithm to solve Closest-Pair problem. In Chapter 4, we present detailed version of the Basic-2 algorithm and give the correspondent proof of correctness as presented by Jos e C. Pereira & Fernando G. Lobo (2010). In Chapter 5, some previous proofs are given where is proven that 2-ary system is not the best choice for all the algorithms. The results in this chapter are based on [Kayk98]. In Chapter 6, a new procedure of divide and conquer rule is presented to solve the closest pair of points problem. In Chapter 7, we discussed future work and conclude our work. 76 pp. Englisch.

Under these conditions the use of untreated waste water for irrigation of vegetables is a common practice. This… study was carried out to assess levels of toxic metals Pb, Ni, Fe and Li in Gandha Nala water of Lahore and their uptake in treated Cabbage. The main objective of this study was to look the effect of contaminated water on morphological and physiological parameters of Cabbage plant. For this purpose Cabbage plants were treated with two concentration 30% and 100% of Gandha Nala water. This treatment was continued for one month. The concentrations of Pb and Ni were found on dry matter basis and were above the recommended maximum acceptable levels proposed by Indian Standard (Awasthi 2000) and Commission regulation (EU 2006). Highest metal contents were observed in leaves which indicate that leafy vegetables should be consumed carefully if produced using untreated waste water. 88 pp. Englisch.

The operation of a fuel cell involves fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer processes and the electrochemical reaction. All the above processes ar…e coupled and they take place in a small region of space making the system complex. The performance of a fuel cell can be studied by experiments and numerical modeling. In the present project, an attempt is made to mathematically model the performance of a Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cell using lumped and control volume approach. The various processes that take place inside the gas diffusion layer of anode and cathode, catalyst and membrane of the fuel cell are represented using governing equations based on the mass and energy conservation principles and electrochemical reactions. The equation that is used to represent the diffusion phenomena in the GDL is solved using the Finite Difference Method. The present model is capable of predicting the performance of the PEM fuel cell in close agreement with numerical model based on CFD approach with a maximum of 30% error. 80 pp. Englisch.

Our approach describes an architecture and toolkit for configuring tests for active, passive and end-to-end measurements using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) objects within these systems. The contents of SNMP replies are analyzed in parallel and in real time by the toolkit. The toolkit also provides a network oriented approach for storing network data and provides an Application Programming Interface (API) with Javascript Object Notation (JSON) output for front end visualization along with accessing other real time information like time series charts and intensity maps. 68 pp. Englisch.
