The title page includes two further titles Chances by Walter Lindsay and An Evening on Dartmoor by Noel Munro which are not present, presumably all three were originally published together. A flyer for the play (including a small portrait of the author) loosely inserted. Vernon Sylvaine (1896-1957) was a playwright and screenwriter who began working in film in 1937. He is usually associated with farce, however in this prize-winning play which was performed in various regional locations at the time he deals with the aftermath of war and its effects.
