Geoff's life as a railwayman is described in detail in the con…text of his Nottingham childhood and marriage to Janet, who faced cancer. Geoff, still active in his new community, retired to Lawford, Essex. He describes travelling with the first group of Prisoner of War relatives allowed to visit Thanbyuzayat Cemetery in Burma, where his brother is buried. The attention to railway detail makes this book an entertaining read and provides a fascinating lesson in social history. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition.
