Even if all digital chips are compliant with the standard, the testability of a mixed-signal system cannot be guaranteed. Teresa Satterfield argues convincingly that so-called `universal' premises guiding well-known parametric approaches greatly complicate attempts to construct an economical bilingual analysis.
