Aggiungi al carrelloFirst edition, in which Yarranton, an engineer and agriculturalist, "proposed many schemes of improvement: fire prevention, establishing linen manufacture, ironworks in Hampshire, a land bank to finance trade, and public granaries" (ODNB). "He suggested making the Warwickshire Stour navigable up to Shipston and the Cherwell to B…anbury so as to shorten the distance for carriage of goods between navigations in the Severn and Thames catchments. Another proposal concerned the River Dee up to Bangor Bridge, Flintshire. These to some extent anticipated the great changes brought about a century later by the development of still-water canals. His ideas came partly from his observations abroad in 1667, especially in Holland and Flanders" (ODNB). A second part followed in 1681. Goldsmiths' 2195; Kress 1459; Sraffa 6692; Wing Y13.
