Draughtsman, sculptor, stage-designer, playwright and poet, he had, before the German publication of "The Tin Drum", only been known to readers of literary reviews and frequenters of the experimental theatres. This is emphatically no longer so.' [Quote taken from the rear flap of the dustwrapper]. ***A later printing of the Secker & Warburg UK edition, complete in its original dustwrapper.
