Duels were between the single seat cars built by Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz. Things changed after 1945 with Mercedes-Benz reviving its racing tradition but Auto Union vanish…ed from the scene. During the 1970s and 80s information about the cars resurfaced and the first Auto Union to be restored appeared at the Nurburgring Circuit in 1979. This is the story of how replicas and restorations of the type C, D and CD cars as well as an Avus record-breaking car were conceived and built. In near mint condition, the book has 162 pages and many colour and monochrome photographs to accompany the detailed and authoritative text.
