Whilst tackle has obviously moved on since this book was written it is still of great use to the modern carp angler. A lot of good stuff on why rigs work (or indeed why they don't) and on carp behaviour when confronted with a baited rig. It is also a good reference to the slightly older rigs which, though they may have gone out of fashion, are still just as effective today as they were twenty years ago. Well worth a read for the thinking carp angler. Chapters include: Why do we need rigs?; Hooks and links; Lead selection; Surface rigs; Bottom rigs; Pop up rigs; Rod end set up; Float rigs; Fine tuning; What next?; Rigs for Europe by Rod Hutchinson; Catfish rigs by Vic Gillings. .
