Hardback. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. Reprint. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF GENERAL JASON. P. C. Wren. Tom Stacey, London. 1973 Reprint ISBN 0854684735 442pp Hardback. P. C. Wren (1875 -1941) is probably best remembered as the author of the much filmed 'Beau Geste' (1924) a romantic adventure of life in the French Foreign Legion but this was not his first book, he had already written sixteen novels and non fiction books. He went on to write many more, over fifty in fact. Wren could construct a first class plot and had a sure touch with dialogue that was salty and humorous. He could handle quick action and create memorable characters. Many of these books are now sadly out of print so second hand copies are now very collected. I am selling over thirty P C Wren novels and short story collections on this site. This story originally published in 1940 and is the story of manhunt to discover the mysterious circumstances concerning General Jason. P C Wren's marvellous story telling skill, which made 'Beau Geste', deservedly, one of the world's most famous books, is displayed again here to the full. this copy is in FINE, bright and tight condition with no inscriptions or markings. The unclipped dustwrappers which is sunned to the spine is otherwise in FINE condition having been covered in clear protective Librafilm which is adhered to the paste downs. Ref N6.…
