Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Many b/w illustrations. A selection of documents translated from the Russian. The Russian conquest of Siberia and the capture of the capital Iskar in 1580 was considered to be the starting point of the Russia's dominance. Although only one thousand Russians participated in the conquest, it proved significant. The invading force leader - the Cossack Yermack Timofeyevich - was killed leaving only one hundred and fifty soldiers to continue the invasion against the tartars. This, however proved sufficient to establish a base upon which was built an empire.
