The basic theory is applied to show how the w-center of a polyhedral system can be found. The algorithm's search direction is positively proportional to the projected Newton direction. The author then examines an implementation of the algorithm that uses a line search. Finally, the book demonstrates that after a fixed number of iterations, an approximate w-center can be used to construct well-scaled containing and contained ellipsoids centered at the approximate w-center.
