In digitalen Montagen aneinandergereiht, liefern diese zufälligen Bildausschnitte aus über 1800 Fotos die zeitgeschichtlichen Verweise, um eine individuelle, ahistorische Erinnerungskonstruktion von Personen, Ausstellungen und Ereignissen im Düsseldorfer und internationalen Kunstgeschehen seit 1966 aufleben zu lassen.Katharina Sieverding (\*1944 in Prag) studierte u. a. bis 1974 an der Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf und 1976/1977 am ISP New York und der New School NY. Sie war Meisterschülerin bei Joseph Beuys und reiste in den Jahren 1972 bis 1988 in die USA, die Volksrepublik China und die Sowjetunion. Seit 1992 hat sie eine Professur für Visual Culture Studies an der Universität derKünste in Berlin. Arranged into digital montages, these once random details of images from more than 1,800 photographs provide historical references that bring to live an individual, ahistorical mnemonic construction of people, exhibitions, and events in the art world of Düsseldorf and the world since 1966.Per l'installazione Projected Data Images: Testcuts, che costituisce il fulcro della mostra, l'artista ha esaminato per la prima volta in modo completo il suo immenso archivio fotografico di oltre quarant'anni. Alla base di questa revisione, tuttavia, non c'erano i negativi ma le cosiddette strisce di prova (testcuts), che sono in realtà sottoprodotti frammentari del processo di ingrandimento analogico.
